REMEMBERING JOHN
"Hey, Hi, How are Ya?" Are the words the one of the kindest men in the world would utter often when he first met you. They are words cemented in the minds and hearts of all those who knew John.

John "Sitting Bull" Carr's sudden passing occurred on January 2, 2024, at his home in Henderson, Nevada. John was born in Toronto,
Ontario and was a proud member of the indigenous tribe Chippewas of the Rama First Nation.
John leaves behind his wife Cynthia Miller of Henderson, NV. Loving Father to
Natalie Allison and Stephanie Ciolek, Son in laws Corey Allison and Marcin
Ciolek. Cherished and proud Grandfather to Isaiah, Aliyah, Olivia, Lily, Delilah
and Molly. He is survived by brother Kenneth Savage and many cousins.
John was well loved and respected by many friends, colleagues and baseball
communities, that he cherished deeply. He will be remembered by his larger then
life personality and how he always left you feeling better after every interaction.
John was very proud of his recent work and mentorship role with Vegas Valley
Baseball and his position as Umpire in Chief at Cooperstown Dreams Park where
he created a lasting impression and lifelong friendships. Anyone that knew John of
his love for his family, sports, Country Music, traveling, good food and cold drinks.
This foundation was formed with the blessings of his daughters and formed by people
widely considered to be some of his best friends. While we miss our big guy daily, it's
our hope that we can continue to honor his legacy by having a foundation in his memory
where we can supply educational opportunity such as camps and clinics to sports officials,
uniforms to those in need of some updating, and potentially umpire camps in the future,
as anyone who knows John knows he loved his trips to help those less fortunate than him!
It's our hope that more than probably five to ten years down the road, we can look into
exploring opportunties to even further the reach of the foundation!
